Gritty McDuff is awesome. Their Halloween Ale is one of the best beers ever. The food is really good and its a family place so no sleazy people. What a joke...
I had one bad expierence here, and it's skewed my opinion on Gritty's permanently. A few years back, when I was 18, I went to Gritty's to eat lunch with a friend (it was about 11:30 AM). Right smack in the middle of the Old Port in Portland, Gritty's is a great place to meet friends for a happy hour pint, to get a mellow lunch, or to party like a rock star.
