Originally a jam-band festival, Bonnaroo has evolved into an eclectic line-up of music ranging from rap to country to jazz, and of course, the jam-bands that made it one of the most popular music festivals in America in the first place.
Now celebrating its 10th year, Bonnaroo has just released the line-up for this year’s festival, to be held June 9 through 12, and it really does have something for just about every musical taste.
Among those playing this year are: Eminem, Arcade Fire, Widespread Panic, The Black Keys, Buffalo Springfield (featuring Richie Furay, Stephen Stills, Neil Young, Rick Rosas, and Joe Vitale), My Morning Jacket, Lil Wayne, String Cheese Incident, Robert Plant & Band of Joy, Mumford & Sons, The Strokes, The Decemberists, Ray Lamontagne, Girl Talk, Alison Krauss and Union Station, Florence & the Machine, Big Boi, Scissor Sisters, Gregg Allman, Loretta Lynn, Wanda Jackson, and Matt & Kim. A full list of musicians is available online.
The 2011 festival will once again be held in Manchester, Tennessee, located about half-way between Nashville and Chattanooga via I-24. Camping is available on-site, with the ability to rent a tent or RV for an additional fee. There are also nearby off-site hotels with special packages that may include free shuttle service to the festival grounds.
General admission four-day passes start at $224.50 per person (a steal considering several of the headliners can command $100 or more for tickets to their own concerts). These passes include basic camping fees and parking, as well. RV campsites are additional.
Four-day VIP tickets are sold in pairs and cost $1,349.50. In addition to camping fees and VIP parking, the package includes exclusive VIP entrance, special shower and restroom facilities, three exclusive VIP lounges for food and drinks, and more.
Tickets go on sale Saturday, February 19, 2011, and there is even a ticket payment plan set up to make it easier to afford.
