Be mine?

Valentine’s Day is not big in Spain. Sure, you’ll see a few hearts in shop windows and boxes of chocolates being sold, but the truth is that ‘Be My Valentine’ is an import. St Jordi’s Day is the Barcelona version of Valentine’s Day. Still, if you want to spend a sexy Valentine’s Day Tuesday with your sweetie at one of Barcelona’s most romantic bars, consider these options:

Valentine’s Day for Bad Girls (and Boyz): 7 Sins

Ok, nothing really bad happens at 7 Sins, but it has ‘sin’ in the name, and that counts for something. I like this cool, black & red bar in the Eixample with its leather sofas and decorative chandeliers! Tuesdays are ‘burger’ nights at 7 Sins, but hopefully they’ll have something else on for Valentine’s Day…nothing says romance like a hamburger (not). They also often have live shows on, so check their line up here:  http://www.7sinsbar.com/default.html

Valentine’s Day for Posh Boys (and Girlz) : Hotel Art’s Eclipse Bar -

If a stellar view of the Mediterranean and Barcelona’s coastline will impress your Valentine, then head to Eclipse Bar in the seaside Hotel W. A swanky lounge with decadent cocktails, this is a luxurious spot to treat your darling. http://www.w-barcelona.com/eclipse-bar

Valentine’s Day for Foodie Couples: Onofre -

Hidden away, there’s something subtly romantic about Onofre. Foodies will love their Spanish cheese and wine selection. This is my top pick of the three bars listed here. http://www.onofre.net/situacion.htm
